Manchester United ask for terms to sign 21-year-old – €32.5m to seal deal, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest keen

Each Wednesday, German newspaper Bild publishes their Sportbild magazine which often contains a transfer section.

Within that transfer section there’s usually claims of English clubs wanting to snatch talents away from the Bundesliga, and this week is no different.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are all said to be interested in Maximilian Beier. The 21-year-old currently plays for Hoffenheim and is also attracting interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

Out of all those clubs, it’s Manchester United who have made the first move. According to Sportbild, the Red Devils have asked what the terms would be to sign Beier.

They’ve been told he has a release clause of €32.5m. That clause progressively changes, as many do in Germany, and reduces by €2.5m a year.

That’s a lot of money for any of Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest or Brentford and they may want to see a little more from the youngster before deciding on a move.

Beier played 35 matches as a striker for Hoffenheim last season, scoring 16 goals and assisting a further three.
