Wolverhampton Wanderers’ potential move for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia is ‘at a standstill’ as they’re simply not offering enough money.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say while forwards are the ‘prized pieces’ on the transfer market, Wolves are not putting all of their money on the table as yet.
Dia is there to be signed as he and Salernitana want to part ways after a year of disagreements which have led to them heading to arbitration after he refused to play in a game this season.
He has rejected a proposal from Lazio and wants to play in the Premier League but ‘Wolverhampton offers little’ at this moment in time and the matter is ‘at a standstill’.
It was their attempt to sign him last summer, which was publically rejected and laughed at by Salernitana, that sparked his falling out with the Italian side and has led to the problems between the two parties throughout this year.
Wolves have been credited with an interest again this summer and Dia is very keen on the move, but it seems they are yet to offer a deal that Salernitana would accept.
They’re instead keen to sell to Lazio, who are offering the right money, but can’t convince the forward, leading to everything around him being stuck in limbo.
