Since Leicester City confirmed their promotion to the Premier League, the Portuguese media had been reporting that Issahaku Fatawu would join the Foxes on a permanent deal.
That was one of the conditions for that agreement, and the Lions were apparently making a great deal by guaranteeing a €17m sale so early in the off-season.
Now as Record today shares a story on this transfer, they show that Sporting are actually getting a small part of that money.
It’s said that from the €17m paid by Leicester City, the Lions are only due €7.9m, as that represents 50% of the profit they’re making on him.
Sporting had signed the player from Steadfast for just €1.2m back in 2022, and part of the agreement with the club in Ghana was they’d get 50% of the profit from a future move.
That definitely doesn’t look like such a good deal now, and Record claim that Fatawu may not even stay at Leicester City for long. They say the Foxes could sell him soon, although there are not any details on that possibility, with them not even listing any clubs who are interested.
