For those waiting for an update on Nottingham Forest’s attempt to sign Carlos Miguel from Corinthians, journalist Bruno Andrade shares some news on Twitter.
According to the reporter, the Reds currently wait for the ‘the definition of financial fair play in the Premier League for 2024/25’ to trigger the release clause. In other words, they are only completing the operation in the next financial year, which starts in July.
Nottingham Forest are then expected to pay the €4m for the transfer and get the signing done. It’s said there’s a verbal agreement with Carlos Miguel for a five-year deal, and he’s already told Corinthians he’s making the move.
“So far nothing has arrived for me, no contract, no fine (the clause) has been paid. The boy is there happily working.”
His quotes, however, aren’t taken seriously by fans and press. Especially because just a few minutes later, he admitted that Corinthians are in talks with other goalkeepers in the market.
