Argentina international Julián Álvarez has insisted that he’s happy at Manchester City despite recent transfer claims.
On Sunday, the forward was on the pitch for 78 minutes in a friendly win over Ecuador. After the tie, the Manchester City star had a chat with ESPN, where they asked him about his future at, and his comments are relayed by Fichajes.
“These are things that are said, but I am calm; I am comfortable and happy at City; we will see what happens,” he said.
On June 4th, Marca reported that Atlético Madrid have contacted the 24-year-old to find out if he’s willing to join the in the summer window.
That didn’t stop the Spanish media from talking about the possibility of Álvarez leaving Pep Guardiola’s side. Last week, Mundo Deportivo reported that he could evaluate offers from top clubs, as long as they can offer him an important role.
With the South American now stating that he’s happy at Manchester City, it may calm reports linking him with a move away from the Citizens.
Álvarez’s contract lasts until 2028, and that puts the Premier League winners in a strong position to retain him.
