Following all the mess with 777 Partners and Everton this year, the Toffees could be edging towards an interesting alternative to that plan, according to the Italian media.
Newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport today reports that the Friedkin family, who own AS Roma, are making an offer for 45% of Blu Heaven Holdings Limited, owned by Farhad Moshiri.
It’s said there’s a plan for the Giallorossi to become huge in international football, with the offer coming out on Saturday morning.
For now it’s not known how much The Friedkin Group is bidding for Everton, although it’s highlighted they’re valued by Forbes at around €700m.
The bid for 45% is believed to be enough to take control of ‘the club and its management’. The idea is not to walk away from Roma, though, as the TFG would like to keep the Gialorossi and create a ‘galaxy of clubs’, with the Italian side still being the ‘jewel’, and the Toffees coming next.
For now there’s no big confidence about the TFG winning this battle, with Gazzetta making it clear that there are other five bids on the table. We shall soon see if Everton would have any interest in being purchased by a group who do not have them as a priority.
