Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is a target for FC Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar after his performances on loan at Excelsior this season.
That’s according to journalist Nicky van der Gijp, who insists the Dutch duo have looked at the striker as they look to bolster their squads this summer.
Parrott has spent the season on loan at Excelsior from Tottenham and proven to be a big hit, bagging 17 goals and five assists in 32 games in all competitions.
His loan deal does include an option to buy, and Excelsior are unlikely to be able to afford him anyway, so a return to Tottenham, where he has a year left on his current deal, appears to be on the cards.
“Troy Parrott really had great play-offs. At one point it was assembly line work, he scored so many goals. That did not go unnoticed. AZ and Utrecht are interested in him,” the journalist told the FC Afkicken podcast.
Football Transfers then provide more on the matter, explaining that the interest from Utrecht comes as they can’t afford a permanent deal for Sam Lammers, who is set to return to Rangers. Both their demands are too high, but Parrott is seemingly affordable.
Alkmaar, meanwhile, are looking at the Tottenham man as a replacement for Vangelis Pavlidis, who is expected to move on this summer and has admirers all over Europe.
