West Ham United’s attempt to sign Internacional defender Vitão is now backed up by the wider Brazilian media.
On Tuesday, it was Inter-dedicated outlet Revista Colorada who reported that the Hammers placed an €8m bid for the centre-back.
Now it’s time for Goal Brasil to confirm that information, also saying that West Ham ‘signalled’ they can pay that much for the player.
Internacional, however, are said to be demanding at least €10m for the sale, so there’s no agreement yet.
The good news is that the Brazilian club are ‘aware’ that Vitão should leave them this summer, and his agents are working to present some offers.
West Ham reportedly see the defender as an alternative to Fabricio Bruno, with whom they couldn’t reach a personal agreement.
According to Goal, the Flamengo defender is still in the Hammers’ ‘radar’, but they’re now looking at other options.
The story claims that Fabricio Bruno’s staff even made a counter-offer to West Ham’s salary bid, yet the London side prefered to walk away and start looking for other centre-backs. That’s when Vitão showed up.
