On Tuesday, Marca reported Atlético Madrid have a great desire to sign Julián Álvarez. It was also stated they had made contact with the Manchester City star, to find out if he’s willing to join them in the summer window.
Marca made it clear that it will be difficult for the La Liga side to take the 24-year-old away from Manchester City.
Journalist Hernán Castillo was a guest on Radio Continental AM 590, and provided an update on the possibility of Álvarez joining Atlético and on his future at the Etihad.
Castillo further adds the World Cup winner’s desire is to join a European club ‘bigger than’ Diego Simeone’s side. He makes no mention of which club Álvarez is specifically aiming for.
Álvarez has been behind Erling Haaland ever since he arrived at Manchester City in 2022, and he could look for a move away from the Etihad to enjoy regular game time.
