The Portuguese media continues to wait for West Ham United’s offer for Jota Silva.

Newspaper A Bola today features a story claiming that the player is closer to ’emigrating’ as he’s been drawing big interest from abroad.

West Ham are described as being the ‘most interested’, and could place a formal bid ‘at any time’ now.

According to the newspaper, Vitória Guimarães want something between €15m and €20m for the transfer. That amount means that Portuguese clubs are unlikely to be to afford his signing, and a move abroad becomes likelier.

Silva has just had the best season of his career, with 15 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances. That’s why there’s so much noise about a potential transfer this summer.

West Ham are just one of the Premier League clubs who’ve been linked to him in the past few weeks, although this story from A Bola makes it very clear it’s the Hammers who lead the race.

It’s now up to Julen Lopetegui’s side to decide whether they’re matching Vitória’s request for the player. There’s every chance West Ham may want to wait a longer, trying to put pressure on the selling club given Jota Silva’s contract expires in 2025.
