Arsenal are very much interested in a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, but face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says Arsenal are yet to make a final decision on the matter and truly push for him.
Plettenberg reports that Arsenal are ‘pushing’ to sign Sesko as they look to add a striker to Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer.
They are yet to make a final decision on the matter but may need to do so soon as they face competition from Manchester United and Chelsea.
United have already inquired about the RB Leipzig star while Chelsea are also monitoring him as well. They’re looking to use the striker’s release clause, which is €65m and expires at the end of June.
Fellow journalist Philipp Hinze, meanwhile, reports that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all ‘involved’ in the race for the highly rated striker.
Leipzig are looking to ward off this interest by extending his contract and removing the release clause from his contract this summer. Sesko, for his part, has not clarified matters to Leipzig either way but has turned down two approaches from Saudi Arabia.
With all parties, including those looking to buy him, looking to get the matter resolved before Euro 2024 then he’s a name to keep a close eye on in the coming weeks.
