Djurgården youngster Lucas Bergvall has admitted his impending departure from the club to join Tottenham has left him feeling a little depressed.
The Swedish youngster has been speaking to Fotboll Direkt about his impending move to Tottenham after they sealed his signature earlier this year.
Spurs moved quickly to sign the highly rated youngster, eventually managing to beat Barcelona to him despite the player making a well-publicised trip to the Camp Nou.
He’ll be joining Tottenham on July 1st and has been regularly speaking about the move for the past few months, with it looking like he’ll be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad next season, at least to begin with.
He only joined the club in a €900,000 deal in February last year but has made 46 appearances for them in that time, bagging nine goals and six assists and showing the kind of development that eventually caused Tottenham to come calling.
And he admits he’ll be sorry to depart, even if he is getting his chance in the Premier League because of it.
“It will be special,” he said regarding his move to England.
“It feels depressing of course. I enjoy myself here, so it feels really sad to leave everyone here, but I hope to come back at some point.
“You start to realize that it is the last game here now for hopefully maybe 17 years. That is the plan. It is. I want to finish here, but then you don’t know if you will get injured or finish abroad. But yeah, that’s the plan.
“Djurgården has meant an incredible amount to me and has been a big part of my life. So yes, the club has meant a lot.”
