Cedric Soares is having his final days as an Arsenal player, as his contract with the Gunners expires in a month.
The fullback, who officially announced he’s leaving the club, is then set to look for a new destination, as there’s nothing certain about his future yet.
The 32-year-old was this week interviewed by the 1 Para 1 podcast in Portugal, and O Jogo features some of his quotes about life after Arsenal.
“I’m going to analyse. I’ll realise where the best solution is for me to continue on my path. Right now I’m very focused on my career, I want to keep playing for a few more years,” said Soares.
“I feel pretty good, I’m 32. So my aim now is to find the right team, where I can continue to take the right steps and where I can be competitive.”
Arsenal signed Soares back in January 2020. They first had him loaned from Southampton and then got him on a permanent transfer.
In his years with the Gunners, he made 64 appearances, and nearly didn’t play for the club this season, only used five times, with 124 minutes on the pitch.
It really doesn’t seem like Soares has anything lined up for his future, and it remains to be seen whether he could stay in English football or go somewhere else.
Since he hasn’t been called up by the national team since 2022, he can’t even have the Euros as a showcase to attract some potentially interested clubs.
