Arsenal are expected to provide competition to AC Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee in the summer window.
Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian has close ties with Arsenal director Edu and that could help the Gunners beat other clubs.
Olivier Giroud’s exit has seen Milan to look for a new striker and their dream is to replace the Frenchman with the 23-year-old.
That’s according to Wednesday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, who say Arsenal are one of the reasons why the Serie A side could find it difficult to sign the Dutchman.
Zirkzee has a €40m release clause that’s valid for every club. This may not be a problem for the Rossoneri, who will face the ‘biggest obstacle’ from the agent.
Joorabchian is demanding a hefty commission, which is rumoured to be between €10m and €15m, and it makes the deal complicated for Milan.
That isn’t the case with Mikel Arteta’s side as Corriere state they would have ‘no problem paying’ the salary and agent fee. The representative would also favour taking his client to the Premier League.
These factors give Arsenal the upper hand, but Milan aren’t willing to give up in their pursuit of the Bologna star. At the same time, they have also identified other targets, in the event they fail to sign Zirkzee.
