Tottenham Hotspur signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla in 2021 and let Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

The 32-year-old Argentina has decided to leave the La Liga side and they have identified Gil as a target to replace him in the summer window.

That’s according to Fichajes, who state Sevilla leaders have already ‘decided to take a step forward’ for the Tottenham player, and their idea is to sign him on a loan deal.

The Andalusian club’s interest in their former player is also discussed by Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who provide their plan to secure his services.

Gil’s game time this year was limited as he was restricted to 60 minutes from four games, and has made only one appearance in the last three months.

He ‘has already decided’ to leave Spurs on a permanent transfer, while Sevilla are looking to sign him on loan with a purchase obligation, with a limit of €6m.

The Spanish club have already made contact with the 23-year-old and asked him to be patient because ‘a simple negotiation with Tottenham is not expected’.

It’s further claimed Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta has asked his camp to ‘endure the pressure and not despair’, as they are keen on bringing him back to the club.
