Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has interest from Arsenal and Liverpool this summer, having expressed an interest in a move away from the Netherlands.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, relayed by Soccer News, who report that both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the goalkeeper, but the latter’s interest has nothing to do with Arne Slot’s arrival at Anfield.
The newspaper explains that Arsenal have been showing an interest in the 26-year-old for a while and were impressed with his performance against Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Celtic where they had scouts in attendance.
They want to add to their goalkeeping department this summer and his price tag of €13m is presumably seen as good value.
It is likely they are eyeing the goalkeeper as a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, who is likely to leave the Emirates this summer after losing first choice status to David Raya this season.
Liverpool’s interest isn’t explained but it is insisted that Arne Slot’s move to Anfield has nothing to do with it. Bijlow has made 93 appearances under Slot for the Dutch club during their time together there.
Number one Alisson has been linked with a move away this summer, though, with apparent interest in Saudi Arabia and perhaps they are planning ahead in case that becomes serious.
For now it seems Arsenal and Liverpool are just interested and nothing more, but he may be a name to keep an eye on, particularly with De Telegraaf insisting he’s long wanted a move abroad.
