With 23 goals scored this season, Simon Banza became Braga’s biggest asset in the transfer market. And now with the Portuguese League over, it’s time for them to deal with the foreign interest in their player.
As newspaper O Jogo today writes about the 27-year-old’s future, they claim it’s West Ham who are ‘leading the race’ for his signing.
The Hammers are said to be planning to make an investment of up to €25m. Even though Braga would like to make a little more, getting close to €40m release clause, those numbers intended by the London side may actually be enough for the sale.
Newspaper Record is another one today highlighting the race for Banza. They point out that West Ham are not alone, though, as AS Roma and Fiorentina are also interested in him.
The striker is described as the ‘strongest candidate’ to leave Braga this summer, with the club planning a big sale with him.
With West Ham apparently progressing with their interest, it’s now up to them to come forward with their first bid.
