Last month, we covered claims from Germany that Timo Werner definitely wants to continue at Tottenham Hotspur, after joining them on loan from RB Leipzig in January.
Spurs have a purchase option set at €17m and on May 3rd, Bild reported that it isn’t ruled out for the north London club to exercise that retain the 28-year-old, despite the injury setback.
Towards the end of April, the forward picked up an injury, forcing him to miss the rest of this season. Leipzig manager Marco Rose had insisted that Tottenham will have to make a decision on his future quickly.
Leipzig have sent the Germany international and André Silva on loan to Tottenham and Real Sociedad respectively, with options to buy.
Bild say there’s been no contact between Leipzig and the La Liga side for Silva in recent times, and it’s the same case with Werner, where Tottenham haven’t yet made contact.
It’s claimed Spurs ‘haven’t yet reported’ to the Bundesliga side, on whether or not they intend to buy Werner. The purchase option is valid until June 14th and it feels like Leipzig, who seem to be concerned, are keen for Spurs to buy the attacker.
