Earlier this week, when the Italian media revealed a race to sign SC Braga star Simon Banza, it was claimed that West Ham United are one of the clubs in the hunt for the player.
A story from Calcio Mercato said the striker had a release clause worth just €25m, making him affordable for all sides who’ve been interested in him.
Covering the claims, we pointed out that the Portuguese media had previously said the clause stands at €40m, and that’s today confirmed by newspaper O Jogo.
It’s then claimed that he has a €40m release clause, and a potential exit will depend on the offers that arrive at Braga’s table in the summer.
The Portuguese club reportedly ‘expect an effort’ from those interested sides for his signing, and already look for a potential replacement for him. They’d rather keep him but he’s seen as the player who can make them some money this summer.
It now remains to be seen how much West Ham and others can put on the table to try and convince Braga.
