Middlesbrough’s Emmanuel Latte Lath has ‘exploded’ in the last few months, according to Sportitalia.
The 25-year-old left Atalanta for the Championship side last summer and has started to enjoy life in England, after overcoming initial obstacles.
Since the start of March, the striker has scored 11 goals, including eight in the last six games, to take his overall tally to 18 goals and an assist for Middlesbrough this season. Michael Carrick’s side finished eighth in the table, four points behind sixth placed Norwich City.
Emmanuel Latte Lath’s contract with Middlesbrough lasts until 2027 but his agent has opened the door for him to leave them for a top division club in the summer window.
Sportitalia interviewed the Middlesbrough player’s agent, Matthias Veneroso, and asked whether he has a chance to jump to the top division.
“Then we’ll have to make the appropriate evaluations, bearing in mind that he has a contract with Middlesbrough, where he’s aiming to do a top-level championship and try to win the league. Having to look around is not our first objective, but we know that strikers are rare commodities and anything can happen…”
The representative was then asked about his valuation, considering Middlesbrough paid €5m to buy his client last summer.
“I can’t tell you the value. The English market is different from all others. It’s certainly a high value, I imagine at least triple what was paid. The club will decide it in the face of any requests,” Veneroso explained.
It was no surprise for Sportialia to ask Veneroso if Emmanuel Latte Lath could return to Serie A and join a club like Como, who have secured a promotion to the top flight. When responding to that, he insists offers will arrive and have to be evaluated.
“We are certainly attentive to those steps that can represent growth for the player. Without having the need and the desire to necessarily do something,” the agent added.
“He’s doing well at Middlesbrough, the club loves him and he has a contract. We have to understand what will happen, because being a striker we know that some offers will arrive, but they will have to be carefully evaluated.”
