According to a claim in the Italian media, Aston Villa are again showing interest in Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Serie A champions may have to offload the Dutch international this summer due to his contract situation.
Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports on the situation with Dumfries’ future at the San Siro. The right back has just over 12 months left on his contract; with no sign he will commit to Inter Milan beyond June 2025. Subcequesntly they may need to move the player on or risk losing him a free transfer next summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport also say ‘the boy’s entourage is aware’ of the interest from Villa and that Inter Milan value him in the region of €30m.
Dumfries has made 34 appearances for his club this season, scoring 3 goals. He’s previously been linked with a move to England after reports of interest from Manchester United.
Gazzetta dello Sport once again state the player wants a transfer to a top level club, with the insinuation that Aston Villa aren’t that. Should that be true, then it’s probably best to walk away, Dumfries isn’t good enough to arrive under the impression he’s doing Villa a favour.
