On Tuesday, we covered claims from Italy which said Tottenham Hotspur might struggle in their chase for Torino star Alessandro Buongiorno.
It was reported that with the player preferring to stay in Serie A, Inter Milan could have a major advantage when competing with Premier League clubs for the signing.
It turns out that, as Calcio Mercato today speaks about the race for Buongiorno, Tottenham are actually again placed as contenders.
Still, the report highlights the ‘strong interest’ from Tottenham, claiming Spurs ‘try to burn off the competition’ by joining the auction.
The price tag for Buongiorno is said to be €40m, and Inter Milan are full of conditions to make that investment, especially because they need to split their payment in several instalments.
So it does seem like Tottenham have a real chance to win the race, even though they might need some work to convince the player to leave Italy.
