Professor Dr. Florian Pfab will take over all medical responsibilities at Brighton when he arrives at the summer after Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed his exit yesterday.
That’s according to Sky Germany and Kicker, who both cover the highly respected doctor’s move to Brighton today.
Sky kick things off and explain that Pfab will move to Brighton at the beginning of July after they paid €250,000 to hire him from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 48-year-old will take over all medical responsibility for the Seagulls, who have suffered greatly from injuries this season and appear determined to solve the issue next year.
Kicker follow that up by explaining Pfab is considered, among other things, a specialist in the prevention and conservative treatment of injuries as well as integrating evidence based diagnostic and therapeutic methods into medical practices.
Indeed, the club were full of praise for the doctor in their press release announcing his imminent departure from the club.
“Florian Pfab and his team have developed the sports medicine area very well over the past five years,” said sports director Markus Krösche.
“We respect Florian’s desire for a new challenge, and, thanks to the professional exchange, we had planning security at an early stage.
“By promoting deserving specialists and the club’s internal impulses, we believe we are very well positioned for the future in terms of expertise, collaboration and development.”
Interestingly, Kicker add that Pfab’s move to Brighton will see him enjoying something of a reunion at the club as well.
That’s because he worked at Ingolstadt at the same time Pascal Groß was there, with the two working together and getting to know each other before going their separate ways.
They’ll now be back together on the south coast, where Pfab will be arriving with a big reputation after impressing at Frankfurt.
