On Monday evening, a report in the Brazilian media claimed there’ll be a race to sign Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius as a free agent.

It was said that since the centre-forward’s contract with the Whites expires in the summer of 2025, clubs would wait to sign him with no costs by then.

Journalist Jorge Nicola now shares an update on the Fulham player’s future, and he claims that battle should actually take place this summer.

For starters, the reporter points out that Galatasaray, who currently have Carlos Vinícius on loan, are not expected to try to buy him or extend the loan.

It’s said Fulham know they would lose him for free in case they don’t sell him this summer, so even though they shouldn’t make much money with a transfer, that’s the only option they have.

Palmeiras, Atlético-MG and Bahia are all named as potential destinations for the striker in Brazil. Although São Paulo made some attempts to get him signed, they’re now well served in that position and are not expected to go after him.

To be clear, it’s thought that with interest building, the clubs involved now want to move quickly and sign the player this summer rather than next.
