Earlier today, we covered a report from ESPN Brasil which said West Ham United have increased their bid for Corinthians youngster Wesley.
It was claimed that following an initial €15m offer, the Hammers now put €18m on the table, and there was some pressure for the Brazilian side to take it.
However, as journalist Jorge Nicola shows up with an update, he claims West Ham’s attempt will again be unsuccessful.
Nicola had already reported that the club chief was told there’s a German club coming with a €25m bid for Wesley, and there’s still confidence that will arrive at some point.
When West Ham made their first attempt, there was some disbelief that Corinthians were turning that down, as the youngster was having ups and downs this year.
However, on Sunday, he scored two goals in the win against Fluminense, and one of them was simply beautiful. That will undoubtedly impact the race for him, and the Hammers may be forced to pay a little more.
