Liverpool are showing ‘concrete interest’ in Feyenoord manager Arne Slot and have already held discussions with him about replacing Jurgen Klopp.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who back up reports from England that Liverpool are looking at Slot as their next manager.
Slot has rocketed up the list of potential replacements for Klopp this week, with reports indicating that he’s on their list after they missed out on Xabi Alonso and Sporting Club de Portugal’s Ruben Amorim seemingly dropped out of contention.
The Dutch manager has been impressing in the Netherlands with Feyenoord for the last few years and was already targeted by Premier League clubs last year, notably Tottenham.
That’s not yet materialised into a formal offer to Feyenoord, who have their coach tied until a deal until mid-2026. That does not include a release clause, so the Dutch club and technical director Dennis te Kloese can negotiate freely about him.
Slot is not the only manager that Liverpool have spoken to, with a growing list seemingly being looked at ahead of Klopp’s departure.
What is interesting is that 1908 add Feyenoord have discussed replacing Slot behind the scenes, believing that he could be set to depart and they need to be prepared.
That would suggest they see the sudden interest from Liverpool as dangerous to his continuity, which means there may be much more to come in the coming days.
