Juventus are convinced they managed to dodge a bullet by not signing Kalvin Phillips in January, as he continues to struggle at West Ham.
That’s at least according to Il Bianconero, who cover the midfielder today and how there is ‘certainly not a regret’ at the Italian side’s failure to get him.
They explain that Phillips was consistently linked with Juventus throughout January before he eventually joined West Ham on loan from Manchester City.
All indications were that the Italian giants were more than keen on him, and they initially regretted not winning the race.
That regret has long since disappeared, though, with the midfielder a ‘total flop’ at West Ham since his arrival.
His impact with the Hammers has been anything but a positive one and Juventus, particularly their fans, are more than aware of that fact. There is ‘certainly not a regret’ now that they missed out on the deal.
In fact, there seems to be a distinct sense that they may have dodged a bullet, which West Ham have duly taken squarely in the chest.
Whether they’ll be feeling the same when Juventus are undoubtedly linked again at some point in the summer when Phillips wants to leave Manchester City permanently remains to be seen.
