Brentford need to ‘ask themselves certain questions’ about their decision to sign Igor Thiago as he continues to struggle in Belgium.
That’s according to Walfoot, who cover how the player is still in the middle of a ‘frightening’ run of form originating back to his move to Brentford being announced.
We’ve already covered how the striker has been struggling since Brentford elected to pay €37m for him back in January, a week or so after the January transfer window had closed.
Up to that point he had been one of the revelations of the season in Belgium, but matters have taken a drastic turn for the worse since and ‘nothing has happened’. Nothing positive anyway.
In the eight games since he’s not managed to score a single goal and has been the author of ‘surprising failures’, especially during the three Championship Play-Off matches.
There’s been consistent insistence from everyone involved that the Brentford transfer has nothing to do with this but that’s becoming a harder argument to make.
Indeed, Walfoot believe that if they’ve been watching the Pro League on TV they will also perhaps need to ‘ask themselves certain questions’ about their decision to spend their cash so readily.
