Arsenal midfielder Jorginho wouldn’t mind a return to Italy this summer and has even spoken to Juventus director of football Cristiano Giuntoli directly.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, relaying information from Tuttosport, who say the Italian may turn his back on the Gunners and elect to return to his homeland instead.
The newspaper explains that the 32-year-old has finally opened contract talks with Arsenal to extend his current deal, which expires in the summer.
Indeed, his potential desire for such a move has seen him go to the point of ‘testing the waters’ with Juventus director of football Giuntoli directly and ‘verifying the feasibility’ of a transfer.
He’s essentially offered himself to Juventus, who want to strengthen their midfield but keep costs low and believes he would be a good alternative to Manuel Locatelli in the squad.
The ball is in Juventus’ court, and they are currently making the ‘appropriate assessments’ ahead of potentially looking to sign him from Arsenal on a free transfer this summer.
