Sevilla could be interested in taking Valentin Barco from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer, if they decide to loan him out.
That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who say Victor Orta might jump at the chance to get the Argentine after losing out in the race for him in January.
A report earlier today claimed that there is a chance Brighton will let Barco go this summer, sending him out on loan to gain experience elsewhere for a season or perhaps more.
He’s seemingly failed to impress Roberto De Zerbi since joining in the January transfer window and it appears they’re considering sending him out as they have done with numerous players over the last few years.
La Colina de Nervión say that the Spanish side were one of the interested parties in January and their director of football ‘really liked’ him at the time.
They would be able to give him the minutes that he wants, particularly if they finally manage to move on Marcos Acuna, whose days at the club seem to be numbered.
That means a move ‘would not go badly’ and he would be seen as an improvement to the squad at the low-cost that the club are looking for.
Whether they make a move remains to be seen and this report does slightly feel like Orta seeing something shiny being potentially available on the cheap and getting excited. Or at least La Colina de Nervión on his behalf anyway.
It’ll all depend on what Brighton decide to do in the summer anyway, although all signs at this moment point to Barco potentially departing, albeit temporarily.
