Gabriel Jesus could have an operation in the summer, recover then leave Arsenal on loan for Juventus next season.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who cover the player today and how a surprise loan deal is being monitored by the Italian side.
They explain that Jesus finds himself at something of a crossroads in his football career, with his inconsistent performances and injuries currently putting him in the spotlight.
His performances this season have not been up to the required standard for title chasers such as Arsenal, with just four goals in 21 games to date.
That’s largely been because of injuries, with the striker recently admitting that he has been playing through injury for most of the season.
The plan is for him to potentially have surgery to resolve the issue in the summer and Tutto Juve believe he could do that, recover, and then leave on loan as he wants to honour his contract with Arsenal.
Juventus are monitoring the situation and are ready to ‘seize the potential opportunity’ should he become available.
Quite why Arsenal would allow him to leave on loan is anyone’s guess and it would certainly be a surprise if they were to sanction such a deal.
Perhaps it would make sense if they were to spend big on a striker this summer and decide that Jesus can head elsewhere, but even then, they’d surely want a sale to help balance the books.
The only way a loan makes sense is if he needs to prove his fitness to a buying club first.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on either way, with Juventus seemingly believing there may be an opportunity at some point.
