Burnley have completed the signing of Shurandy Sambo from PSV Eindhoven, with the deal now completed between the various parties.
That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who reports that the full back will sign a deal with Burnley until 2028.
Reports over the last fortnight had indicated that Burnley had moved quickly to sign Sambo, whose contract with PSV Eindhoven is set to expire this summer.
He’s been with the Dutch side for the entirety of his career, having first broken through in their youth sector and made his way up the various ranks from there, playing at every level for the club and even enjoying a loan spell at Sparta Rotterdam in the 2022/23 season.
He was moved to the PSV Eindhoven first team in July last year after returning from that loan spell and has made appearances for them this season, with 14 in total, including three in Champions League qualification.
Those appearances have seemingly convinced Burnley to make their move and Elfrink reports that the deal for him ‘has now been completed’.
According to his information the player ‘considered, weighed and then decided’ to accept the offer from Turf Moor, which was for a contract until 2028.
He offers no further information on the deal than that at this point, but with the matter now sealed, we’re sure those details won’t be long in coming.
Transfer van Sambo van PSV naar Burnley is inmiddels volledig rond. Alles gewikt, gewogen en besloten. Wordt idd contract tot 2028, zoals Romano al meldde. Ook via @johaninan.
