As Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is consistently reported as one of the top candidates to take charge of Liverpool in the summer, the Portuguese media has been giving a lot of coverage to it.
So as DAZN this weekend managed to hold an interview with Tottenham player Pedro Porro, who used to play for the Lions, they wanted to know his opinion on his former boss.
In quotes brought by O Jogo, the Spurs fullback sent big compliments towards the manager, making it clear he should be ready to get the job at Liverpool.
“He’s got seven or eight games to go, it was a very important victory. I’d like to send a big hug to all the Sportinguistas, especially Ruben,” said the Tottenham player.
Specifically on those managerial vacancy links, Porro said: “Everyone knows what a good coach he is, he does things very well, he’s a great coach. I wish him all the best and have nothing but good things to say about him.”
Earlier on Monday, we covered interesting reports from Portugal claiming Liverpool are indeed in conversations to sign Amorim from Sporting, and are set to meet his agent this week.
The Reds are focused on finding a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, and while the Lions’ coach fights to win his second Portuguese title, it seems his entourage is dealing with interest from the Anfield side.
So it seems there’s a real chance Porro may see Amorim again when Liverpool play Tottenham next season.
