In the winter market, Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa was on the verge of joining Brentford in a deal worth around €37m.
In the end, the transfer didn’t take shape after the Bees found some concerns with the winger’s knee during medical tests.
The 18-year-old has now talked about his failed move to Brentford during an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, relayed by Voetbal Krant.
“The whole time I thought: there’s nothing wrong with me, right? Suddenly everyone had an opinion about my knee. I read all kinds of things, while I didn’t know what was going on,” he said.
“You can look at it in many ways. If that knee was a problem for them, then I can’t do anything about it. The most important thing is that we know how it works,” Nusa explained.
This isn’t the first time the attacker has opened up about his failed transfer to the Premier League side. Last month, he told the Norwegian media that he feared for his career at one point, after his move to Brentford collapsed.
Nusa has scored four goals and registered four assists from 34 games this season.
Meanwhile, Brentford have agreed a deal with the Belgian club for Igor Thiago to arrive at the Premier League side in the summer.
