Antonio Conte hasn’t returned to management since leaving Tottenham Hotspur a year ago. Recent claims in Italy have stated Napoli are looking to appoint him as their manager at the end of the season.
On Tuesday, it was reported the Serie A side are preparing to enter into negotiations with Spurs for Dejan Kulusevski. It was also stated they will do ‘anything’ to try and sign the 23-year-old, in order to please Conte.
TuttoMercatoWeb now state ‘it’s complicated’ for the Serie A side to take the winger away from Tottenham.
The Naples club would be in line to earn a huge fee of over €100m from Victor Osimhen’s sale in the summer. If they were to then focus on the Sweden international, the report states he’ll cost around €60m.
Kulusevski is a regular under Postecoglou and the manager is unlikely to be keen to sell him.
Napoli showed interest in signing Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg on loan in January and found out it’s not easy to negotiate with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. Kulusevski isn’t on the market yet and that makes it even more difficult for them to sign him.
Levy wouldn’t let Tottenham be bullied, and Napoli would almost certainly find any asking price – even if it got that far – shocking. The Spurs chief has a wealth of experience in this regard and the situation looks primed for him to have a little fun and chase the Serie A club away.
Kulusevski’s own stance isn’t even known, and Napoli appear to have got a little carried away as they work to bring in Conte.
