Manchester United are keen on signing Juventus’ Gleison Bremer in the summer, as per multiple reports from Italy.
Gazzetta dello Sport state the Serie A side need funds, and would want at least €60-70m including bonuses to part ways with Bremer.
The ‘most concrete movements’ are taking place around the 27-year-old, who has been on top of Manchester United’s radar.
Erik ten Hag’s side, through their usual intermediaries, have shifted their focus to Bremer in recent weeks.
It’s said Manchester United aren’t frightened by the idea of spending €60m on the Brazil international, and for those figures ‘white smoke’ with Juve would certainly be possible.
Corriere dello Sport also say Manchester United are ‘ready to pay’ the fee needed to bring the defender to Old Trafford after this season. It’s claimed he has a €61m release clause in his deal that lasts until 2028 and this figure is ‘more than affordable’ for the Red Devils.
The South American’s exit would be painful for the Old Lady from a sporting point of view, but it’ll help them balance their books.
Corriere dello Sport say Manchester United ‘insist’ and are ‘in pole’ to sign Bremer, and his sale would help Juve improve their finances.
Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to appoint Dan Ashworth as the club’s next sporting director and work is underway to bring him from Newcastle United.
The newspaper states the Red Devils will change their transfer strategy and focus only on players under the age of 30, and it’s pointed out that Bremer fits in with this.
Despite all of that, it feels like the English and Italian press are batting claims between each other and adding a little each time without a lot of reason to do so.
Interest may well be there, but some of these claims feel like they’re getting ahead of the actual situation.
