For those who might be wondering whether Radu Dragusin is resting on his laurels after his big January transfer to Tottenham, think again.
That’s what his agent, Florin Manea, has revealed to Fanatik on Sunday evening, as he talked about the Romanian defender.
Asked about the player’s lifestyle since he swapped Genoa for London, it quickly became clear that the centre-back is fully committed to making it at Tottenham rather than enjoying the pleasures the capital city may have to offer.
Manea said: “He hasn’t gone out at all in London, to go out clubbing or anywhere. I don’t even know he’s gone out to eat twice. He doesn’t go out. We went out twice to a restaurant. He leaves at 9am, and comes back at 3-3.30pm, because he puts in an extra two hours of gym every day and an hour on the pitch.
“It’s not exactly easy. It’s like having a job. He grafts and grafts. There’s also this pressure, he’s thinking about the national team, the Euros. He really wants to succeed. I think we can already say that he is one step in the winning boat.”
Currently with Romania for the international break, Dragusin played the full 90 minutes against Northern Ireland on Friday, and is likely to feature in the next game against Colombia.
This amount of football is very welcome for him, as the defender has only made one start for Tottenham since he made the move from Genoa, which unfortunately came in the 3-0 loss to Fulham.
He had previously come on at half-time against Aston Villa in the 4-0 win and had to make do with cameo appearances at the end of games prior to that.
Ange Postecoglou had always made it clear his starting pair would be Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero for the time being, with Dragusin needing to work hard to displace either of them in the starting lineup.
