Gonzalo Montiel could return to Sevilla if Nottingham Forest were to be relegated from the Premier League.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, who claim the La Liga seem to be concerned with the recent developments that took place around the English club.
Earlier this week, Nottingham Forest were docked four points for breaching the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.
This has seen them drop to the danger zone as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are currently a point behind Luton Town, who are in 17th spot.
If that happens, the defender will be a ‘problem’ for Sevilla sporting director Víctor Orta.
The World Cup winner has made 14 appearances for Nottingham Forest, out of which nine of them were under Nuno Espírito Santo, who replaced Steve Cooper last December.
Montiel hasn’t made an appearance since the FA Cup win over Bristol City on February 7th. Taking this into account, Nottingham Forest may decide not to retain him, even if they were to continue in the Premier League next season.
