The Conference League final between West Ham United and Fiorentina is still a big subject of discussions at both clubs, but for different reasons.
While the Hammers are still proud of their continental title, the Italian side still think about what they could’ve done better to win that game.
One of those who has bad dreams that match is Rolando Mandragora, and he’s today quoted by Labaro Viola talking about their next Conference League game, and recalled the match against West Ham.
“The missed goal against West Ham is the biggest regret of my career, I always think about it and I hope I can do it again this year in the same game. The path to the final is long, there are many games but I work to get back there and take this revenge. I often try to score and I work to improve.”
Mandragora indeed had a great chance to score when the match was still tied 1-1, and that play could have definitely given the match a different outcome.
Fiorentina are now on a new mission to win the Conference League this season.
After getting through the qualifiers and the group stage, they’re now facing Maccabi Haifa in the round-of-16.
They already won 4-3 away from home, and tonight play the decisive game in Italy.
West Ham, meanwhile, prepare for their Europa League clash against Freiburg, but following a 1-0 defeat in Germany, the Hammers have a tough challenge ahead, as they try and seek a positive result in London.
