Following the success of some of their previous purchases from Belgium in the past, especially those arriving at a young age, Manchester United are continuing to scour that market to this day.
The news comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who takes to X with a video to reveal that the Red Devils are looking at Mandela Keita, currently enjoying himself at Royal Antwerp on loan from OH Leuven.
This isn’t the first time the defensive midfielder has been linked with the Premier League, as West Ham United had a look in January, but we now see Manchester United joining the fray.
Tavolieri explains a scout from the Premier League club who works in the Benelux region went to watch a home game in which the 21-year-old played in, and the outcome was that Keita impressed.
The player’s name was then added to a ‘rather large’ list of midfielders, meaning there is some sort of interest there from Manchester United.
This backs up previous claims that the Premier League side had already scouted Keita a number of times.
He isn’t the only player that was noted down, either, as George Ilenikhena, who was signed this season by Antwerp for €6m from Amiens SC also impressed.
The 17-year-old striker has impressed in his first season with the Jupiler Pro League side despite his young age, scoring 14 goals in 39 appearances, as well as picking up on assist.
He was added to a list of players Manchester United are keeping tabs on, with it said he is seen as a ‘top forward of the future’.
