Liverpool may find themselves in a battle with Real Madrid for Eintracht Frankfurt defender William Pacho this summer.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the pair would need €60m to sign the defender, even if Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche could open the door to a deal.
The newspaper explains that Frankfurt are facing a fight to keep three of their main stars this summer, with Pacho among them.
His rapid development has earned him the attention of bigger clubs, in this case Liverpool and Real Madrid, who are both ‘interested’ in him ahead of the summer.
He faces a summer in which he needs to drastically reduce the numbers at the German side, while he would also need to secure big sales should Frankfurt miss out on qualifying for the Europa League.
Selling Pacho would help to balance the books, particularly as he’s currently valued at €60m, and a sale ‘will become even more likely’ if European football is not secured for next season.
Whether Liverpool would be willing to pay that figure isn’t mentioned but they’re in the mix alongside Real Madrid, with the end of the season likely key to what happens in the summer.
