Sunday is a big day for AC Milan youngster Francesco Camarda, as he will be turning 16, which means he can sign his first professional contract amid interest from Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Corriere dello Sport cover the event, and explain that up until a few weeks ago, the belief was he would be doing just that, and it would be a ‘beautiful fairytale’ if he did.
However, there is some concern that interest from both Italy and abroad, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City named as interested parties.
Spurs, the Gunners and Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘not only obtained information’, but have also ‘sent scouts to see him’ and have the ‘financial ability to mock’ anything AC Milan may offer Camarda.
That’s why there is a worry, because Camarda ‘will be free to sign’ for anyone he wishes from ‘one minute past midnight’ on Sunday.
AC Milan down their end would like to offer him a three-year deal starting from next July, as that would mean he signs until 2027 and not 2026.
The issue for Premier League clubs is that he is unable to join them until he is 18, and perhaps that will give Manchester City and advantage over the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, since the City Group can purchase him and send him to Palermo or even Girona in Spain.
