Stefan Ortega wants more money than is currently being offered to him by Manchester City.
That’s according to Florian Plettenberg, who says renewal talks between the Premier League champions and the goalkeeper are stalling, partly over finances.
That isn’t the only aspect on Ortega’s mind though, it’s said that at 31-years-of-age, he’s ready to be a first choice goalkeeper.
Joining Manchester City in 2022, the stopper has played most of his career matches for Arminia Bielefeld and perhaps wants something a little higher up the food chain for the rest of his career.
And, if he’s not to get that, with Anderlecht the only interested club named, then more money for being a squad player at City.
Plettenberg insists Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the goalkeeper, so he’ll obviously be fighting to keep him in the squad.
More talks are on the way, so it seems everything is up in the air right now.
