Juventus star Federico Chiesa has ‘declined advances’ from Aston Villa and Newcastle, while a move to Liverpool is now less likely thanks to Jurgen Klopp’s departure.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who cover the player today and how he is unlikely to end up at any of the Premier League trio this summer.
They explain that Chiesa’s time at Juventus is now entering a crucial phase as his contract expires in 2025 and there is still no agreement on an extension. Talks have been held but there are no foundations for an agreement and, so, it’s time to keep an eye on ‘foreign sirens’.
Jurgen Klopp would have ‘willingly brought’ the Italian to Liverpool but his departure at the end of the season means a change of strategy and so Chiesa may now be off the table.
Chiesa, meanwhile, ‘declined advances’ from Aston Villa and Newcastle last summer, while not even taking into consideration any offers from Saudi Arabia.
He’s waiting for Juventus to move but the reality is that Aston Villa and Newcastle aren’t on his radar as they’re not part of the elite of European football, despite being able to offer good sums thanks to their ‘abundant economic availability’.
It would be a different story for Liverpool given their European history and indeed Premier League title challenge this season but Klopp’s departure seems to have made them less likely too.
