Arsenal midfielder Jorginho could become the ‘new Thiago Motta’ in the years to come as he “has a different intelligence” compared to other players.
That’s according to his agent, Joao Santos, who believes the Arsenal midfielder will be a coach once his playing career comes to an end.
Jorginho is currently enjoying life at Arsenal after working his way back into the first team over the last few weeks.
His experience appears to be helping the Gunners push towards the title once again, with Mikel Arteta’s side firmly in the race alongside Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Italian has proven to be a smart purchase for Arsenal since joining from Chelsea in an €11.3m deal from Chelsea in January 2023, adding experience to a young Gunners side which has proven vital.
At 32-years-old, he is very much in the latter part of his career and while there are no questions about retirement or anything of that nature at this moment in time, his agent insists coaching will very much be on the cards in future, especially after the player recently earned his UEFA B coaching licence in February.
“Jorginho is very skilled in this aspect because he already talks a lot about football and tactics with his teammates,” he told TV Play.
“He has a different intelligence on the pitch because he sees the game globally, not just in his position. He got his coaching licence because he thinks about doing this job after playing football.
“He has the vision of a midfielder like Thiago Motta who is doing very well at Bologna where he has found the right path. We hope that Jorginho also takes a team with a president and a sporting director who give him confidence and he will reap the benefits.”
