Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are again being named in the race for Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.
A fresh story is brought by Calcio Mercato, this time claiming that Juventus may find it too difficult to fight Premier League sides for his signing.
It’s said that Atalanta are not that interested in negotiating with league rivals, and as they plan to raise the price, they’re thinking about holding an auction to see how far the English clubs can go.
That’s where Liverpool and Tottenham come in, with Calcio Mercato claiming the Reds and Spurs currently stand in the ‘front row’ for the signing.
Those clubs should just be aware that Atalanta are fully focused on making the most from his sale. The plan is to do something similar to the sale of Rasmus Hojlund, who left for Manchester United in a deal worth as much as €80m last summer.
That’s the type of operation which Juventus seem unable to afford, and that leaves a clear path for Liverpool, Tottenham or any powerful club who are willing to spend that much. Atalanta will just be waiting for the big offers.
