Eric Dier is one of six Bayern Munich players who will support Thomas Tuchel to the end of the season, as he’s ‘grateful’ for the German manager signing him from Tottenham in January.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Tottenham man is one of six who still back the German boss despite him leaving in the summer.
Bayern and Tuchel announced their decision to part ways at the end of the season today following weeks of mounting pressure on the German manager.
He had found himself facing criticism from all corners following a series of disappointing results for the club, including a hammering at the hands of title rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
It also appeared that he had lost the support of the dressing room, with comments from several players after recent poor results indicating that they were not happy with life under him.
According to BILD the dressing room is very much split down the middle but Dier, who was signed on loan from Tottenham in January, is not one of them.
According to the newspaper, he felt ‘grateful’ to Tuchel for signing him last month despite him barely featuring under Ange Postecoglou in the first half of the season.
He was delighted to be handed the opportunity to play for a team like Bayern Munich and it seems he credits Tuchel as the man who made it happen.
Thus, he will continue to support the German manager until the end of the season, even if some other senior names in the dressing room do not.
