At the weekend, we covered reports from Brazil which claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing Pedro from Flamengo.
Later on, with claims that the Rio de Janeiro club demand at least €25m for the transfer, we pointed out how unlikely it’d be for the Blues to make that investment in a 27-year-old.
Now as journalist Julio Miguel Neto shares his own information on this rumour, he comes up to deny Chelsea’s interest.
On Twitter, the reporter points out that Pedro’s entourage are unaware that the Blues would like to sign him.
It’s also pointed out that Chelsea are betting on a different type of signing. Firstly, because they like ‘fast and mobile players’, which Pedro definitely isn’t. Then there’s the fact that the oldest player in their squad, apart from Thiago Silva, is 27. So the Flamengo centre-forward doesn’t look like the type of investment they’d make.
Those claims make a lot of sense, and added to the information that the striker’s entourage know nothing about Blues interest, we should probably let this rumour slip away peacefully for now.
