Following the signing of Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden, there were already signs that Tottenham were continuing to scour the Scandinavian market for talent.
An interest in Viktor Djukanovic, who plays for Hammarby, was quickly reported, and now we have news that Spurs sent scouts to watch a clash between two Danish sides.
That’s according to Bold.dk, who have an article explaining that various big clubs had representatives present at the clash between Brøndby and FC Mitdjylland, including Tottenham.
They say many of them had previously been in Farum to watch FC Nordsjælland, and then carried on their tour to view the above match.
Bold state eight Bundesliga clubs, two Premier League sides and three Serie A teams had talent spotters in the stands, with Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Tottenham, Ajax, Atalanta, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hamburger SV and Feyenoord all named.
The names mentioned by the outlet as potential targets for these sides were Patrick Pentz, Jacob Rasmussen, Yuito Suzuki and Mathias Greve on Brøndby’s side, but will have left disappointed if they wanted to see Mitdjylland players impress, as they were all disappointing ‘across the board’.
However, it is worth pointing out that the latter side signed Dario Osorio from Universidad de Chile last summer, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham during the previous January window, so there is every chance Spurs sent someone there to see how he was faring.
The Premier League club were even said to have made the best offer for the player, who eventually moved in the summer to Denmark.
