FC Porto are receiving more bad news ahead of their Champions League clash against Arsenal.
Earlier today, we already covered the reports from the Portuguese media saying Zaidu is set to miss out for the rest of the season, which was a big blow for the Dragons before what is a very important game for them.
Now, as officially communicated by Porto and relayed by O Jogo, Mehdi Taremi may also miss out on the first leg of the Champions League tie.
It’s said the Iran international suffered a thigh injury on Sunday’s training session, and is now getting treated ahead of the match against Arsenal.
For now, there’s no detailed information about the length of his injury and whether he will definitely be forfeit for the game, but he is among the players currently on the injury report.
Taremi had started in all of Porto’s matches in the Champions League, so even though he only has six goals this season, he would be a big absence for Porto for such an important match.
We will likely get a bit more detail as to whether he’ll be available to play against Arsenal on Wednesday in the next couple of days, or if he will have to wait until the second leg to face Mikel Arteta’s side.
